How SIP investments work
Investing a fixed sum regularly, and what rupee-cost averaging really means.
A Systematic Investment Plan lets you invest a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals, usually monthly.
Because you invest the same amount each time, you buy more units when prices are low and fewer when prices are high. This is called rupee-cost averaging.
SIPs encourage discipline, but they do not guarantee returns or protect against losses in falling markets.
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme-related documents carefully.
